Robert Opperman earned his degree in Media Production from East Carolina University in 2010, and began his filmmaking career in Philadelphia doing special effects for major motion pictures. He returned to his hometown of Raleigh, NC in 2012 and worked as the director of photography for the production company Triangle Blvd before joining the Minds of the Independent Screen - a film collective. During his time there, he helped to complete two full-length documentary productions “Empirica” and “The No-Hand King.” The latter chronicled a North Carolina man’s attempt to set the world record for the longest wheelie and was featured at the River Run International Film Festival and the Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington, NC.
